Who do I talk to...?

We are proud of the ethos in our school and we are continually aiming to nurture and develop good relationships with families based on mutual trust and respect. However, if you have a concern about any aspect of your child’s education or there are personal issues that you would like to share in confidence with us, the following may help:

Class Teacher

If there has been an issue during the school day, the first person to talk to is your child’s teacher. They are always in the playground after school. If you have any concerns about your child’s progress or well being, they will be happy to make an appointment with you for a longer discussion.

Head of Phase

If the class teacher is not able to help you or you feel the issue has not been resolved, they will direct you to the Head of Phase who is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.  You can either phone, email to make an appointment to see them.

Home School Liaison Officer

Thofur Ali is our Home School Liaison Officer. He is based in the main office and can help you with any administration issues such as school trip arrangements, admissions, medical needs etc. He is also able to support and signpost parents to external services. He is responsible for working with parents and organises a range of workshops and outings.

Head teacher/Deputy head

If the above staff are not able to help you or you feel the issue has not been resolved, they will direct you to either the Deputy Head or Headteacher. You can make an appointment to see them. You can also speak to them at the beginning or end of the school day when they are also in the playground.  However, if the Head of Phase has followed the school's policy to resolve the matter the Deputyhead or Headteacher cannot overturn their decision.

Governors

Please see the governors section of the website for more details on the roles of governors and how they support the relationship between school and home.

Home School Agreement

Our home school agreement clearly sets out the responsibilities of both parents/carers and school staff in relation to fulfilling the school vision for all our children. It is important that the values we hold are also the values held by parents and carers. When a child begins at our school, we meet with families to make sure we have a shared understanding of these values and what they mean in practice. Any aspects of the agreement can be further discussed with any member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Complaints

If you feel that a matter you have raised with the school has not been addressed satisfactorily, you may wish to follow our complaints procedure. Please find this under school policies in the information section of the website.
